When Your Foundation Repair Needs Structural Work
Cracks, bowing, settlement, and sticking doors all point to a foundation that is failing under load or water pressure. Regina Concrete identifies the root cause, then rebuilds the slab or wall to handle it. Smaller issues get crack repair. Deeper problems need underpinning or reinforcement. Every job starts with a free, no-obligation site visit.

Diagnosis first
Why Foundation Repair Starts with Understanding the Root Cause
A wall that leans inward, a corner that has settled, horizontal cracks running across the basement, these are all visible signs of trouble. But the actual problem is usually one of three: groundwater pushing on the wall from outside, a footing that was never deep or wide enough, or insufficient reinforcement in the original pour.
We do not recommend a repair until we know which one it is. Filling a crack on a bowing wall does nothing if the soil pressure outside is what is pushing it in. That requires foundation waterproofing and drainage work. A footing that has settled needs underpinning to extend it deeper. A wall that lacks reinforcement needs structural reinforcement added.
Small surface cracks benefit from early crack repair before frost and water make them worse. Larger structural cracks need engineered reinforcement and sometimes underpinning. The free assessment tells you which path your foundation needs.
The repair sequence
How Foundation Repair Gets Done in Regina
-
Assess the failure mode
We look at crack patterns, wall tilt, interior signs like sticking doors and sloped floors, plus exterior drainage and soil conditions to determine whether the cause is water, footing failure, or structural shortfall.
-
Excavate and expose
For exterior repairs, we dig down to the affected section of the foundation slab or wall, confirming the damage visually and measuring the scope before specifying the concrete repair method.
-
Reinforce and rebuild
Structural repair means adding rebar and concrete to strengthen the wall, injecting cracks with structural-grade sealant, or extending the footing through underpinning to reach stable soil.
-
Waterproof and backfill
The repaired concrete gets waterproofing applied, drainage is installed or upgraded, and backfill is placed carefully to avoid loading the fresh concrete before it cures.
The complete fix
Foundation Repair Plus Waterproofing Solves Both Problems
Most foundation repairs include waterproofing because water is usually what caused the failure in the first place. A repaired wall that is still exposed to groundwater will fail again. We address both the structural damage and the water source.
Waterproofing and weeping tile upgrades go hand-in-hand with repair work. Crack repair handles minor surface issues. Underpinning handles deeper structural problems that extend below the wall itself.

Foundation Repair Questions, Answered
Diagnosis, structural repair, waterproofing pairing and underpinning for failing foundations in Regina.
Diagnosed the cause as water pressure plus an undersized weeping tile. Fixed the drainage and the wall. Two springs since with no recurrence. Repair, not patch.
Bowing basement wall properly reinforced and the soil pressure addressed outside. Wall is straight, basement is dry, the house feels solid again.
Honest that part of the foundation needed underpinning, not just repair. Did both as needed, explained exactly why. No upsell, just the right fix.
Sticking doors went back to working normally after the repair settled. They had explained why that would happen and it did. Confidence inspiring.
