Wash Bay Concrete Slabs in Regina
Wheel loaders and dump trucks need a concrete slab that slopes toward trench drains, connects to an oil-water separator, and resists the chemicals in wash water. Regina Concrete designs and pours wash bays that meet environmental discharge rules while handling the weight and wear of daily equipment cleaning. Call for a free written estimate.

Drainage and compliance
Why Wash Bay Concrete Requires Engineering
When equipment gets washed on your property, the runoff carries oil, sediment, and detergent. That water cannot flow directly into the storm system. Regulations require it to pass through an oil-water separator first, which means the concrete slab has to be built with slope and trench drains that feed the separator.
We size the slab for the heaviest equipment in your fleet, slope it in all directions toward drain collection points, integrate the separator into the drainage path, and apply chemical-resistant finishes if your wash process uses degreasers or alkaline cleaners. The result is a slab that handles the load, moves water efficiently, and keeps your operation compliant.
This approach connects to our broader chemical-resistant flooring work and our ready-mix concrete supply for larger projects. See also our warehouse floor coating services for related industrial applications.
Installation sequence
How We Pour Wash Bay Slabs in Regina
-
Site assessment and design
We measure the bay footprint, identify the heaviest equipment that will use it, determine slab thickness and reinforcement, locate trench drains, and size the oil-water separator based on wash volume and discharge requirements.
-
Excavate and prepare subgrade
The bay area is excavated to the correct depth, subgrade is compacted to specification, gravel base is placed, and plumbing for drains and separator connections is routed before concrete forms are set.
-
Form and pour with slope
Forms are positioned with the engineered slope in every direction toward drain locations, rebar is placed for load capacity, concrete is poured and finished with a broom texture for foot grip, and slope is verified with water flow during the pour.
-
Cure, install drains, test system
The slab cures to full strength, trench drain grates are installed, the separator is connected to the discharge point, and the entire system is tested with water to confirm proper drainage and separator function before handoff.
Common failure points
Why Concrete Slope Cannot Be Fixed After Cure
A wash bay that pools water in corners or low spots is a wash bay that does not work. Water must flow to drains from every point on the slab, and that slope has to be consistent and correct. We verify slope during the pour using a level and water flow tests, not after the concrete hardens. If slope is wrong, it must be corrected before cure because you cannot add slope to cured concrete.
Coordinate with your environmental compliance team on separator sizing and discharge routing. The wash bay is part of your larger stormwater management strategy, which also includes our fuel station concrete work and other industrial concrete projects on your site.

Common questions
Wash Bay Questions, Answered
Trench drains, oil-water separators, slope verification and storm-water compliance.
New wash bay with proper slope to trench drains and the oil-water separator we needed for compliance. Discharge passes regulatory inspection, equipment gets washed faster, no more puddles in corners.
They engineered for our wheel loaders and dump trucks, the heaviest stuff we run. Slab has held under daily traffic, drainage works through every wash. Right tool for the actual fleet.
Wash bay with chemical-resistant surface for the degreaser we use. Three years of operation, no surface degradation, separator processes hydrocarbon properly. Compliance side covered.
They tested the slope with water before signing off. Pooled in one corner; they corrected it before cure. Final result drains perfectly. Real install discipline.
