Regina Driveway Concrete Built for Winter
Your driveway takes the heaviest traffic and the harshest weather on your property. We build it with a solid excavated base, air-entrained mix, and a finish that sheds water and salt. Broom, exposed-aggregate, stamped or coloured, every pour comes with a free written estimate and a firm completion date.
- Excavated base compacted in lifts
- Air-entrained mix for freeze-thaw
- Four finish options, free written quote
Site assessment
Why Driveway Concrete Fails (and How We Prevent It)
Most driveway failures start underground. If the base is not excavated to proper depth, compacted in layers, and graded to drain, the slab will settle, heave, and crack no matter how good the concrete is. We remove the old slab, excavate to grade, and build a compacted granular base that carries the load and sheds water.
The concrete itself matters too. We use an air-entrained mix designed for Saskatchewan winters, with control joints cut on a planned grid so shrinkage cracks follow a clean line instead of random fractures. Sealing the surface every few years keeps de-icing salt and moisture out.
If your slab is structurally sound but showing age, resurfacing and repair can extend its life at a fraction of the cost of a full replacement. We assess both options on a free site visit and recommend what makes sense for your home and budget.
The sequence
How Driveway Installation Happens in Regina
-
Excavate and grade the site
Old slab is removed and hauled away. We dig to the proper depth, check drainage slope, and confirm the grade slopes away from the house and garage.
-
Compact the granular base
Gravel base is placed in lifts and compacted with a plate compactor. Forms are set and stringed to the finished elevations and slope.
-
Place and finish the concrete
Air-entrained concrete is placed, screeded flat, and finished to your choice: broom, exposed-aggregate, stamped, or coloured.
-
Cut joints and cure
Control joints are saw-cut on a planned layout. The slab is cured and you receive a schedule for when it is safe to walk and drive on.
Surface choices
Four Driveway Finishes for Regina Homes
The finish is what you see and touch every day. A brushed finish is the standard choice: affordable, durable, and easy to keep clean through winter salt and slush.
Exposed aggregate washes away the surface paste to reveal the stone, giving grip and texture that hides dirt. Stamped concrete presses a pattern into the fresh slab that mimics flagstone, slate, or brick. Coloured concrete tints the slab to match your home's trim or siding. We bring finish samples to every estimate so you can see them in daylight before committing.

Driveway Concrete Questions Answered
Pricing, thickness, finishes and cure times for Regina driveways.
Old driveway was heaved and cracked corner to corner. They rebuilt the base properly and the new broom-finish slab has stayed dead flat through a full winter.
Went with exposed aggregate and it looks sharp. The crew brought samples to the estimate so we knew exactly what we were getting before the pour.
Widened the driveway for a second vehicle and tied it into the original cleanly. You would not know it was two pours, the colour and finish match.
Quoted a resurface instead of a full tear-out because the slab was still sound. Saved us money and they were upfront about it from the first visit.
