New Foundation Installation in Regina for Homes & Additions

The slab beneath a house carries every load above it for decades. Regina Concrete pours new footings and walls to the structural engineer's specifications, with rebar tied to plan, inspected before each concrete placement, and waterproofed before backfill. We handle the full sequence from site survey through curing and drainage setup. Free written estimate on request.

Why Foundation Pours Cannot Be Rushed

A foundation that settles unevenly, cracks early, or leaks will cost far more to fix than it cost to build right the first time. The concrete slab is hidden once backfill goes in, so every detail must be correct before the pour happens.

We start by confirming the engineer's drawings against the actual site conditions. The bearing soil is inspected and approved before forming begins. Footings are excavated to the depth specified, formed straight, reinforced with rebar tied to the plan, and poured in one continuous placement. Walls go up on cured footings, formed plumb and true, with embeds for utilities positioned exactly where the trades need them. The concrete is consolidated to remove voids, and the forms stay on until the slab reaches the strength the engineer requires.

When the project includes an addition or tie-in to an existing structure, the detailing becomes even more critical. The new footing must either bond to the old one or isolate from it, depending on the engineer's design, so both parts of the house move as one unit. We also coordinate the foundation waterproofing and drainage system before backfill, protecting the new concrete from groundwater and frost heave. The same precision applies to all our residential concrete work.

The sequence

How Foundation Installation Unfolds in Regina

  1. Layout and survey

We stake out the footing and wall positions from the engineer's drawings, confirm the bearing soil depth with the geotechnical report, and mark the excavation limits.

  2. Excavate and inspect

The footing trench is dug to the frost-line depth specified in the drawings. The bearing soil is inspected and approved before any forming or reinforcement goes in.

  3. Form, reinforce, and pour footing

Footings are formed and reinforced with rebar tied to the plan. The concrete is placed, consolidated, and left to cure on the engineer's schedule before wall forming begins.

  4. Form, pour, and strip walls

Walls are formed plumb and true with all embeds in place. The concrete is poured and consolidated, forms are stripped on schedule, and the slab is ready for waterproofing and backfill.

Protection before backfill

Waterproofing and Drainage Finish the Installation

A new foundation is not complete until the exterior is sealed and drainage is in place. We apply foundation waterproofing to the walls and install weeping tile at the footing to carry groundwater away from the structure.

Without these steps, a brand-new concrete foundation can develop leaks and water damage within the first spring thaw. Done as part of the installation, they protect the slab and basement for decades. The same care extends to the basement floor that sits inside the foundation walls.

Common questions

Foundation Installation Questions, Answered

Drawings, footings, additions and waterproofing handoff for new foundations in Regina.

Yes. Every new foundation install is built to the structural engineer's drawings, footing sizes, wall thicknesses, rebar layouts, mix designs, and is ready for inspection at each stage before concrete is ordered or backfill goes in.
Yes. Additions usually require the new foundation to tie in or isolate from the existing footing per the engineer's design, so the new structure settles with the house rather than against it. We pour to that detail.
Below the frost line, which is typically several feet in Regina, and confirmed against the engineer's geotechnical info. The exact depth depends on the soil, the load and the local code requirements; the drawings specify it.
Yes, as part of installation. Foundation waterproofing and weeping tile go on before backfill, protecting the new structure from groundwater for the long haul.
It depends on the size, the soil, the engineering and access. We put exact numbers in a written, itemised quote after reviewing the drawings and walking the site, so the price is firm against the actual project.
