Lithium-Safe EV Battery Flooring for Regina Facilities
Lithium battery production floors face a dual challenge: withstand electrolyte spills and solvents while maintaining ESD-controlled resistance for sensitive cell assembly. Regina Concrete engineers and installs hybrid flooring systems that meet both demands, with full chemical-resistance documentation and megohmmeter-verified ESD compliance. Free written estimate on every project.

Emerging industry spec
Why EV Battery Flooring Is Not Standard Industrial Concrete
Ten years ago, lithium battery manufacturing did not exist as a major industry, and the flooring requirements reflect that newness. The spec is a convergence of three separate demands: chemical resistance to organic electrolytes and lithium compounds, ESD-dissipative properties for sensitive cell handling, and clean-room-adjacent contamination control. No single standard flooring type addresses all three.
A pure chemical-resistant epoxy fails the ESD requirement. A pure ESD-dissipative floor fails under electrolyte spills. The hybrid system we install combines urethane chemistry for spill resistance with conductive elements for ESD control, grounded to your facility's electrical system at engineered points.
We work with your process engineering team to confirm the exact battery chemistry, electrolyte composition, and ESD resistance range your operation requires. The spec is then built to that profile. See our broader industrial concrete services and clean room flooring for adjacent zones.
Installation sequence
How We Build EV Battery Floors in Regina
-
Profile your chemistry and ESD needs
We meet with your engineering team to document the specific lithium chemistry, electrolyte type, solvents in use, and the ESD resistance range required by your cell-handling protocols.
-
Prepare the concrete slab
The existing slab is diamond-ground to remove all contaminants, old coatings, and surface debris. The concrete is left clean and primed, ready for the hybrid system application.
-
Apply hybrid urethane-epoxy system
The matched hybrid system is applied in layers: urethane base for chemical resistance, conductive epoxy topcoat for ESD dissipation. Grounding straps are installed at engineered points per your facility's electrical spec.
-
Test and document compliance
After full cure, megohmmeter testing is performed at multiple floor locations to verify ESD resistance is within your required range. All results and chemical-resistance ratings are documented for audits and facility records.
The hybrid advantage
One Floor, Two Critical Functions
Specifying a battery floor as either chemical-resistant or ESD-controlled misses half the requirement. The hybrid system is engineered to handle both because that is what lithium battery production demands. Electrolyte spills must not damage the floor; sensitive cell assembly must not risk static discharge.
Zone-specific specs are common in battery facilities. Cell assembly zones may need tighter ESD control; pack assembly zones may face heavier vehicle loads. We spec per zone rather than applying one system across the entire facility. Coordinate with clean room flooring in sealed-process areas and our broader industrial concrete services for non-battery zones.

Common questions
EV Battery Flooring Questions, Answered
Lithium electrolyte exposure, ESD resistance ranges and hybrid system spec.
Hybrid chemical/ESD system across our cell assembly zones. Three years of operation, electrolyte spills cleaned up without floor damage, ESD verification still in range. Engineering for both requirements is what made it work.
They knew the EV battery industry was different from standard manufacturing or standard ESD work. The hybrid spec made sense once explained; the install matched the spec exactly.
Different system in our pack assembly zone (more vehicle-load) than in cell assembly (more ESD). Right tool per zone, not one floor everywhere. The match is what we needed.
Documentation package supported our customer audit for an OEM contract. The compliance side mattered as much as the install quality. Real industry awareness.
