Regina Kitchens Deserve Concrete Countertops Built for the Space
Stock slabs get trimmed to fit. A concrete countertop gets cast to fit, templated from your actual cabinets, with the sink opening, cooktop cutout and edge profile locked in before the mix is poured. Regina Concrete handles indoor counters for kitchens and bathrooms and outdoor counters for grill stations and bars, ground and sealed to handle daily use. Free written estimate on every job.
- Templated from your actual cabinets or base
- Ground, honed and sealed before installation
- Free written estimate, confirmed finish date
How the process begins
Measuring First: How Concrete Countertops Get Their Shape
The template visit is where a concrete countertop takes its actual form. We measure the cabinet run or outdoor base, mark where the sink and cooktop openings land, and settle on the edge profile and surface finish before any concrete is mixed. Nothing is assumed from a floor plan.
That precision is what lets an indoor concrete countertop wrap a kitchen island without an awkward seam, or drop into a bathroom vanity level on the first try. The same attention to layout carries into our concrete patio and retaining wall work across Regina.
Once the template is confirmed, forms are built to match it exactly. Reinforcement goes in, the mix is cast and vibrated to clear any voids, then the slab cures before grinding and sealing begin. The finished counter arrives ready to install, not ready to be adjusted on-site. Homeowners who want to understand the full cost picture before committing can also check our concrete cost guide for reference.
From template to installation
Four Stages of a Concrete Countertop Build in Regina
-
On-site template
We measure the cabinet run or outdoor base in person, mark sink and cooktop openings, and confirm the edge profile, colour and surface finish before any forming begins.
-
Form construction
Forms are built to the exact template dimensions. Cutout blocks are positioned precisely and steel reinforcement is placed to carry the counter's span without deflection.
-
Cast, vibrate and cure
The concrete mix is poured into the forms, vibrated to eliminate voids, then cured fully, either in our shop or in place, depending on the counter's size and the site access.
-
Grind, hone, seal and set
The cured slab is ground to the agreed finish, sealed against stains and heat, then set level on the cabinets or base. Care instructions are left with every installation.
Two applications, one process
Kitchen Slab or Grill Station: Choosing Your Concrete Countertop Type
Homeowners in Regina typically come to us with one of two situations. The first is an interior renovation, where a kitchen island, perimeter run or bathroom vanity needs a surface that holds up to daily cooking, cleaning and the occasional hot pan. An indoor concrete countertop is honed smooth and sealed food-safe, so it handles that routine without issue.
The second situation is an outdoor build. A grill station, a bar ledge on a covered patio, or a prep surface beside a pool all need a concrete slab that can take Saskatchewan weather, UV exposure and temperature swings without degrading. An outdoor concrete countertop is mixed and sealed specifically for those conditions. Both types pair naturally with the outdoor kitchen work we do across the region.
The casting method, shop-poured or in-place, is decided at the estimate stage based on the counter's dimensions and how accessible the install location is. Either way, the finished surface is sealed before it leaves our hands. Clients curious about decorative finish options can also browse our stained concrete floors page to see how colour and texture choices translate across concrete surfaces.

Straight answers on casting, finishes, durability and care for concrete countertops.
Cast a concrete island top with no seam where you would notice one. The edge profile is exactly what we picked and it has shrugged off everything the kitchen throws at it.
Outdoor bar counter for our grill station. Built tougher for the weather, and a full year outside later it still looks the day it was sealed.
They templated the vanity properly so the counter dropped in level first try. Honed finish feels great and the sealer has held up to daily use.
Loved that it was cast to our space, not cut to fit. The cooktop cut-out landed exactly where it should and the colour matches the floor.
