Pattern-Poured Stamped Concrete for Regina Commercial Sites
Stamped concrete delivers the visual weight of natural stone or masonry on a properly engineered slab. Regina Concrete builds the base right (compaction, gravel, thickness, joints, drainage), pours with integral color throughout, stamps the pattern at the right plasticity window, and seals with a freeze-thaw-rated finish. The result holds color and pattern through years of public foot traffic and seasonal weather swings.
- Engineered slab with pattern finish
- Integral color throughout concrete
- Sealer rated for freeze-thaw cycles
Foundation matters
Why Stamped Concrete Fails (and How We Avoid It)
The typical failure is a thin pour over poor base prep that cracks through within two winters, revealing grey concrete under the color. The pattern becomes a liability instead of an asset. The difference between that outcome and a 10-year success is the slab engineering: proper subgrade compaction, adequate gravel base, correct thickness for the use, reinforcement, and a joint pattern that controls where cracks occur.
Once the slab is right, the decorative work happens on top. Integral color mixed into the concrete means chips expose the same color, not grey. The stamping is timed to the plasticity window so the pattern impression is crisp and holds detail. The sealer is specified for UV exposure and our freeze-thaw cycle, protecting both the color and the surface texture.
We apply the same engineering standards across commercial parking lots, commercial sidewalks, and decorative concrete work. Where a stained finish suits the design better, see stained concrete options. For adjacent retaining walls, we coordinate the work in one sequence.

How Stamped Concrete Gets Built in Regina
-
Confirm pattern and color on-site
We bring sample boards showing the stamped pattern (stone, brick, ashlar, cobble, or custom), the integral color options, and edge treatments. The decision is made with real samples at the site, not from photos or digital renderings.
-
Build the slab foundation
Subgrade is compacted to spec, gravel base is placed and leveled, forms are set to grade, reinforcement is positioned. The slab thickness and joint layout are engineered for the intended use and local freeze-thaw conditions.
-
Pour and stamp the concrete
Concrete with integral color is placed and consolidated. At the right moment in the curing window, the pattern is stamped into the surface with enough pressure to create crisp detail without over-working the slab.
-
Seal and hand off maintenance
Once fully cured, the stamped surface is sealed with a UV- and freeze-thaw-rated commercial sealer at the chosen gloss level. The maintenance schedule and re-seal intervals are documented and handed to the property manager.
Long-term performance
The Sealer Is the Working Component
A stamped slab that gets resealed on schedule looks identical after a decade to the day it was finished. The same slab without re-seals fades, dulls, and the color leaches out. The sealer is what works; the slab and integral color are the permanent base underneath.
We provide a maintenance plan at project handoff that specifies the re-seal schedule (typically every 2-3 years in Regina's climate) and the sealer product. Coordinate timing with adjacent commercial sidewalk maintenance and curb and gutter work so the whole site gets refreshed together. For commercial floor projects that tie into the stamped entry, we sequence the sealing to match.

Common questions
Commercial Stamped Questions, Answered
Patterns, colors, sealers, durability and pairing with adjacent commercial surfaces.
Stamped entry plaza at our office tower, integral color matching the brick. Three years in, sealed twice on schedule, looks like the day it went in. Worth the right install.
Stamped circle drive entry that reads like real stone from the curb. Guests comment on it constantly. The maintenance is one weekend every few years, fair trade.
Stamped plaza ties into the surrounding sidewalk pattern cleanly. They coordinated all the work in one project, no improvisation at the transitions. Real planning.
Stamped patio entry with integral color matching our brand palette. Sample boards on-site let us pick the exact tone. Two seasons in, holding perfectly. Customers notice.
